Ryan Here. Finally read this. As promised.

You're right. We are concerned more with format quality, a seamless-ness of computer generated mastery overlain our reality, a complete subversion of the MTV philosophy: "keep things fast paced and people's attention will still be hooked". Micheal Bay has made millions cutting every 5 seconds.

But can we escape that fact? OR are we just the puritans of cinema past? Should we have been born during one of cinema's great exploratory expressive periods where it was all story? OR can we bring it back? I still think great films are being made today but we are all too enamored to the technology, where is the thrill? It's the charm of sitting in a cinema, reacting when others react, communally enjoying something that someone out there bore from nothing. That's what excites me anyway.

We fit images and ideas to a story which remains unhinged. I say, concentrate on story and the visual sense of the medium will shine through. Amen. I await the next installment in the Krish saga.

This is actually Rehan.

It's a rather wonderful, expressive blog which details the loss of the importance of story-telling over today's ADD generation which unfortunately holds cool effects and the like (which I'm a fan of but not at the expense of a story), over the idea of story importance.

Why not a mixture between the two?

I await your next blog entry with keen interest.
